Important: Mapleproof does not authorize sales of age-restricted products Retailers must independently verify a valid government-issued ID at every transaction in accordance with Ontario law. A successful Mapleproof scan is supplementary information for the cashier, not legal verification. The retailer remains solely liable for sales-to-minors violations under the Liquor Licence and Control Act, 2019 and the Cannabis Licence Act, 2018.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By using Mapleproof — whether registering for a customer pass, scanning a pass as a retailer, or browsing this website — you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You may use Mapleproof only if you are at least 18 years old (the minimum tier we support). For purchases of cannabis, alcohol, or tobacco in Ontario, you must additionally be 19 or older as required by provincial law. You must use a valid, unexpired, genuine government-issued photo ID. Use of forged, altered, or someone else's ID is a criminal offence and grounds for immediate account termination.

Mapleproof is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by Canadian law, we disclaim all warranties — express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mapleproof's total liability for any claim arising from or related to your use of the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or CAD $50 if you have paid nothing.

We are not liable for:

Some jurisdictions don't allow limitations on certain liabilities; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Mapleproof harmless from any claim, loss, or liability arising from your violation of these terms, your misuse of the service, or your violation of any applicable law.

10. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time via /delete. We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe you have violated these terms, used the service fraudulently, or that termination is required by law. Sections 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12 survive termination.

11. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms periodically. Material changes will be announced on the home page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, except where applicable consumer protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local jurisdiction.
